I told one of our friends who came to visit, I just can't seem to get it together to get this post up. I've been working on it for a few days. I do feel really good considering everything but this whole lack of sleep thing catches up to ya after a little bit. We are starting to get into a little bit of a routine and I'm trying to heed the advice "sleep when the baby sleeps". Today I finally did some normal things like a load of clothes, cleaned up the dishes and picked up the house. I cannot say how nice it is to be able to do things for myself again. My first day off bedrest..I went to the doc that am for my checkup...got the green light to do WHATEVER I WANTED...so I went to the mall and was gonna walk around a little...didn't even get in the door good, was at the top of the escalator and my water broke! So I drove myself to the hospital with the flashers on and J met me there...confirmed we were about to have a baby and sent me down to the third floor...6 hours later we have us a precious little boy.
I've had lots of friends ask me how it's been so far. Well, he is a very good baby...I mean we are only on day 4 but he eats really good, sleeps good, hardly ever cries, we haven't even had to use a pacifier one time (yet). He likes to snuggle and when he is awake he just looks around at everything...very curious. Like right now I'm sitting in the rocking chair with him stretched out in my lap and he is just kicking his little feet and looking around while I finish this post. Since he has been in this world he has even had his first shopping trip. We had to take him to the doctor for his first checkup this Friday (yesterday) and check his weight. He had lost from 7.8 to 7.1 in the hospital but when we took him yesterday, he was already back up to 7.5. Then we needed to go get him some clothes since we didn't have many and ran in JCPenney to get him some outfits. He slept through the whole shopping trip and car ride home.
My recovery hasn't been too bad from the actual birth. The more I've moved around the easier it's getting. We are going to bust out the jogging stroller tonight and take our first walk...don't worry, no jogging just yet.
Here are a few pics to show what we have been up to over the past week.
I'm sure everybody is wondering about the "bucket list"... well we actually did get it accomplished and then some:
-hair cut...check
-oil change...check
-dinner with J..check
So that's the latest from the Poland house. Adjusting to our new way of life and honestly loving every second of it.
Iris and Justin! I'm ultra excited that Briggs has arrived :-) I'm also glad you're loving it! I can only imagine that you are both amazing parents and will continue to be an incredible blessing in the lives of your children. Love y'all lots!xx
